Whiplash begun as a side project for Alan & Alex back in 2016. Both working in brewing already, they rented tanks at the weekend and released single batch small releases for fun, from their own place of work and friends' breweries around Ireland. The name Whiplash Beer started to crop up in more and more discerning craft beer locations around Ireland.
Things escalated, and by the end of 2017 Whiplash was going full time. Whiplash’s reputation has grown both at home and internationally. Whiplash are widely and rightly regarded as Ireland’s best brewery on Untappd and by Beoir, and are recognised as one of the best in Europe. In 2019, Whiplash became the first, and only to date, Irish brewer invited to participate in the prestigious Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen.
Whiplash are famed for their hop forward, New England style DIPA’s, but they also brew low abv IPA’s, stouts, porters, and many hybrid styles in between. In keeping with their ridiculously high commitment to quality, all beers are packed in can and keg only. Oh, and their cans are amongst the most eye catching in the craft beer world!
