The two wines from Domaine CaudeVal a group of family-owned estates in Languedoc, punched above their weight for the €7.99 ask. The Sauvignon Blanc had plenty of fruit with good balancing acidity and none of the green pepper or vegetal vibe.

This is as an aperitif because of its high acidity. Good with chicken or fish but particularly well suited to smoky barbecue flavours with its toasty characteristics.
